Presidents Message

The 2017 Gatton show is almost upon us, and we are in the final stages.
We are looking forward to another successful show, after last year’s wet weather.
Our team tried very hard to provide a quality show for our 100th year, but couldn’t control the weather. So this year we are focused again.

Our theme for our 101st show this year is “The Salad Bowl of the Lockyer”

Again our hard working team of dedicated volunteers pull together a major show, lifting the standard and continually looking for ways to improve.
Shows in general are finding the going difficult with tough economic times and the costs continually increasing. It is our aim to provide the very best value for money entertainment that will please all our fantastic Patrons.

Each year the level of pride that shines throughout all our sections is fantastic.
No matter what area you visit, be it the pavilions, the outdoor displays, or the well organised main ring, you can be assured our Gatton team have tried their Very Best.

The Gatton Show Society cannot thank all our sponsors both large and small, enough for their valued sponsorship and support. I would also like to acknowledge the Lockyer Valley Regional Council for their continual assistance to ensure the Gatton Show will always be a success.

Also without our valued patrons, the show could not be the success it is, so I ask again this year that everybody in the community gets behind our Gatton Show for 2017.

In the main show ring, we will see top class horses entered throughout all events that have competed and won all over the country. I am sure the standard as usual will exceed previous years.

The show jumping section is again looking fantastic, attracting great interest from all over, as our show is the last big hit out for all prior to the Brisbane Ekka.

The quality and the number of showjumpers coming are truly outstanding.

The pavilion will again be at a premium, and the outside displays so far look very promising, and all other sections right throughout the grounds are excited at the level of interest received. There will be something for everyone.

The dairy Showcase and Stud Beef Cattle sections will again be at capacity; interest so far suggests quality of a very high standard will be on show.

The Saturday night programme will be very exciting as always, and will thrill and excite all in attendance. This year we have different things to entertain you, with something very special.
Something  for all ages.

Again, on behalf of the Gatton Show Society, please come along and enjoy our 101 st  Gatton Show.
